Welcome! We are thrilled you are considering joining Birmingham Figure Skating Club! We offer a variety of skating and non-skating memberships.
BFSC memberships run concurrently with U.S. Figure Skating memberships from July 1 through June 30. Memberships provide all skaters (beginning to advanced) with a lot of benefits from participation in competitions to accident insurance. To learn more about membership types, click here.
Membership Benefits
All BFSC full skating memberships, and our Introductory membership, include a membership in U.S. Figure Skating. USFS membership includes:
- Individually numbered membership card
- Subscription to Skating Magazine, and access to the Skating Magazine archive.
- Sport Accident Insurance & Liability Insurance
- Certificates of accomplishment for passing proficiency tests and placing at U.S. Figure Skating qualifying events (athletes)
- Participation in skating competitions and events (athletes)
- Special offers and discounts from U.S. Figure Skating corporate partners
- Club newsletter emailed with updates about testing sessions, competitions and other club activities.
- Special events, training sessions and social functions including Club Ice.
Frequently Asked Questions
BFSC memberships run concurrently with U.S. Figure Skating memberships from July 1 through June 30. You can purchase a membership anytime throughout the year, but all memberships expire on June 30.
Yes, you need a USFS membership to test and compete. A BFSC membership automatically gives you a membership with USFS too. In addition, you get access to our club exhibitions, events, etc.

A portion of all membership fees go to the US Figure Skating, and the remaining go to BFSC to host events such as Magic City Classic, our annual awards reception, test sessions, etc.
As a member of the club, you will receive our monthly newsletter, Bladelines via email as well as other relevant emails about upcoming events, test sessions, etc.
